The Importance of Branding your business

To understand branding, it is important to know what brands are. A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service that consumers connect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company who owns the idea or image. Branding is when that idea or image is marketed so that it is recognizable by more and more people, and identified with a certain service or product when there are many other companies offering the same service or product.

The Importance of Re-branding/Brand Elevation:

Rebranding a company or individual involves changing the logo, image and mission of the brand. The purpose for rebranding varies, but in general companies/individuals rebrand to restore a negative image, to bring current an out-dated image, or to reestablish a product loyalty. A brand that has been in business for many years may rebrand to update its image and products to be more current and appealing to the modern consumer. Rebranding is also a corrective step for a company recovering from a negative image due to a faulty execution or media image. Rebranding is also a corrective method of reestablishing the brand's foundation.  A total rebranding involves major changes to a company name, logo, and public image in order to eliminate the old brand. This type of rebranding may also involve changing processes and procedures in the inner workings of your company so that they match with the new mission statement your company's rebrand will promote. Total rebranding usually culminates with a large event that promotes the company's new brand.
